Nuclear energy

Regularly we listen complains about nuclear energy, cause it is dangerous, hurts the environment or a new accident like Chernobyl will be repeated, these are some ideas that are thrown on nuclear energy, ideas spread by organizations like Greenpeace, lets check in this conceptions.

Security:

This point is very attacked in the mission of stop this technology, specially for the threath of an accident like Chernobyl or the creation of nuclear weapons, so talking about Chernobyl, it was a terrible and catastrophic event, however, it was 30 years ago, in those years the security protocols, education of those who work on a nuclear power station and of couse the technology has undergone an evolution making the nuclear power of today completely diferent from 30 years ago, an actual nuclear power station it´s not made to extract plutonium for the manufacturing of nuclear weapons, in fact, the principal motto of this industry is "without security, there is no bussines", for example the containment building it´s able to resist the direct impact of an airplane full of fuel, in addition, according to several studies, nuclear power it´s the one has caused least deaths from energy produced, including accidents!!!

So... compare an actual nuclear power station with one of 30 years ago is like comparing actual airplanes with one of 100 years ago.

Another fact... you´ve probably heard that bananas are radioactive, well, you would have to consume 8 million bananas in order to suffer a letal radioactive dose, eat just 1 banana gives you the same radiation as living near a nuclear power station for 1 year.
